Guidance for Religious Communities

RAG has now published new guidance on the care of the archives of religious communities, available to download here

This focuses on the historic records of Christian religious communities within the UK, though much of the advice will also be relevant to communities within other faiths. It is aimed at community members or staff without professional training who may be assigned responsibility for archives, and encourages good stewardship in preserving these historic records for the future

In Black History Month this event explores historical and contemporary perspectives on Black Majority Churches in the UK and Ecumenism.  Dr John Maiden (Senior Lecturer in Religious Studies at the Open University and a Trustee of the Religious Archives Group) will give a lecture. This will be followed by a time for discussion chaired by Rev. Phyllis Thompson.

The New Testament Church of God Heritage Centre will also be open.

Cost: £5 (includes lunch + refreshments)
